Your home away from home
The Shack at Selby Organic Farm Stay is a comfortable, 2 bedroom self-contained unit with a fully equipped kitchen including a fridge, gas stove & microwave. A BBQ & gas is supplied in case you want to enjoy being outside as much as possible! There are also ceiling fans, reverse cycling in main room and an open fire in the main room with wood and kindling provided ready for a lovely fire in the evenings. Bedroom 2 has oil heaters & fans only. (Andrea is prepared to clean & set the fire each day for you to enjoy after a full day out doing activities if your require, just let her know)
Wood for an outside campfire is provided & all ready for you to light (after a quick initiation of fire etiquette). There is also basic cookware for you to cook your food outside on the fire if you would prefer (& there are no fire restrictions)
On arrival you will be welcomed by Andrea who will have some home baking ready for you to enjoy once you’ve settled in. It is advised to bring your food & drinks with you, as Griffith in 50 minutes away & the local shop hours might not suit your time frame. The local hotel has lovely counter meals most nights too.
A DVD player, CD/radio, games, books & much more are supplied for your enjoyment.
Please note that while there is no WiFi, The Shack does usually receive adequate Telstra reception.
We suggest that you bring all your food and drinks as the local store has only basic supplies.
The nearest big town is Griffith, 64.5kms away (approximately 50 minutes drive).
Rankins Springs does have;
A country pub that serves cold drinks & hearty evening meals most nights
A general store/post office
A petrol station/garage
Rankins Springs doesn’t have;
We are totally reliant on rainfall for The Shack & drinking water within.
(BYO your own bottled water if you'd prefer)
